Jay Summach

Jay Summach is a seasoned educational professional with a diverse background in teaching and learning management. Currently serving as the Manager at the Centre for Teaching and Learning at the University of Alberta since May 2025, Jay collaborates with instructors to enhance learner engagement and inclusivity. Prior experience includes roles as Key Account Manager at the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute, and Director of Learning Services and Delivery Director at Yellow Pencil, where Jay led significant initiatives such as the launch of an internal LMS. Additional experience encompasses positions as Director of Education and Communications at the Edmonton Construction Association, Associate Director of First-Year Writing at Duke University, and Coordinator at Yale Teaching Centre. Jay holds a Ph.D. in Music Theory from Yale University and both a BA and MA from the University of Alberta.
