Daniela H. is a Universitair Docent at the University of Amsterdam since October 2024, with prior experience as a Scientist A at SRON Netherlands Institute for Space Research, where statistical methods and machine learning techniques were developed for space research data sets. Daniela served as the Associate Director of the DIRAC Institute at the University of Washington from October 2017 to November 2020, focusing on astronomy and data science, particularly in analyzing astronomical time series data. As a Moore-Sloan Data Science Fellow at New York University from November 2014 to October 2017, contributions included the development of time series methods for X-ray astronomy, while earlier, during a PhD at the University of Amsterdam from October 2010 to October 2014, Daniela worked on statistical techniques for transient gamma-ray sources. Initial experience includes a summer research role at UC Santa Cruz in 2007, classifying supernova remnants. Daniela holds a Master of Science in Astronomy and Astrophysics from the University of Amsterdam and a Bachelor of Science in Geosciences and Astrophysics from Jacobs University Bremen.
