Savindi Wijenayaka is a Doctoral Candidate at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute since December 2021, recognized for winning the SPARC FAIR codeathon in 2022 and achieving runner-up status in 2024. Currently serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at The University of Auckland, Savindi teaches various courses in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Software Development Methodologies. Prior experience includes a role as a Machine Learning Engineer at WSO2, focusing on research and development in areas such as Natural Language Processing and performance optimization, and as a Software Research Engineer at Pearson, contributing to projects involving Machine Learning and Fullstack Development. Savindi holds a PhD in Bioengineering from The University of Auckland and a BSc (Hon.) in Software Engineering from the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka.
