Denise Woods

Vice Chancellor for Health, Well-being & Safety at University of California, Riverside

Denise Woods, DrPH, serves as the Vice Chancellor and Associate Vice Chancellor for the Division of Health, Well-being, and Safety at the University of California, Riverside since September 2019, overseeing a comprehensive portfolio that includes various student health and support services. In previous roles, Denise directed the Student Wellness and Basic Needs Initiative at The California State University, leading efforts to address food insecurity and wellness programming across 23 campuses. Early career experiences include a Senior Manager position at Beach Cities Health District, Public Health Education Specialist at Providence Health & Services, and Project Manager at UCLA, contributing to public health programming and community wellness. Denise Woods holds a Doctor of Public Health from UCLA, and advanced degrees in Mass Communication and Communication from the University of Southern California.
