Emmanuel Agu

Emmanuel Agu is an MD candidate at the University of California, San Francisco, with a strong focus on ophthalmology and leadership in medical associations. Since August 2020, Emmanuel has served as a Catalyst Intern and Co-Director of the Vision and Ophthalmology Interest Group. In addition, involvement in the Student National Medical Association spans multiple roles, including Regional Director and member of the National Board of Directors. Emmanuel holds research experience at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in the Department of Ophthalmology and as a Minority Ophthalmology Mentorship Fellow with the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Previous positions include research associate at Johnson & Johnson, where clinical data from medical device trials was analyzed, and tutoring roles at Altius Test Prep. Academic background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from the University of California, Davis, and current medical training at UCSF.
