Hemal Kanzaria

Hemal Kanzaria currently serves as the Chief of Performance Excellence at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, where responsibilities include the development and implementation of strategic goals. Previously, Hemal served as the Medical Director of the Department of Care Coordination at ZSFG, co-leading initiatives to improve care for patients experiencing chronic homelessness and managing a team focused on health-related social needs. Additionally, Hemal holds multiple academic positions at the University of California, San Francisco, including Professor of Emergency Medicine. Past roles include a Fellowship with the California Health Care Foundation, Director of Complex Care Analytics with the San Francisco Department of Public Health, and Clinical Scholar at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Hemal received a Master of Science in Health Policy and Management from UCLA, a Doctor of Medicine from UCSF, and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Community Health from Brown University.
