Patrick McQuillen is a Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology at UCSF, where research programs focus on brain development, plasticity, and recovery following acquired brain injury in newborns. This work involves laboratory research utilizing small animal models of neonatal hypoxic ischemic brain injury, with functional outcomes assessed through early EEG and visual cortical function measured by intrinsic signal optical imaging.
