Patrick McQuillen

Patrick McQuillen is a Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology at UCSF, where research programs focus on brain development, plasticity, and recovery following acquired brain injury in newborns. This work involves laboratory research utilizing small animal models of neonatal hypoxic ischemic brain injury, with functional outcomes assessed through early EEG and visual cortical function measured by intrinsic signal optical imaging. Patrick has also served on the Developmental Neuroscience Editorial Board for S. Karger and as a Guest Editor for Circulation at the American Heart Association. Educational background includes a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from UC San Diego and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology from Stanford University.
