Cheryl Lloyd is the current AVP and Chief Risk Officer at University of California-System Administration Central Office. Cheryl has held this position since October 2021. Prior to that, they served as the Acting Vice President Systemwide Human Resources at University of California Office of the President from January 2019 to October 2021. In this role, they were responsible for steering human capital operations of the University of California’s 10 campuses, including five medical centers. Additionally, they were responsible for spearheading operations of team in the absence of the incumbent, acting as COO, and holding overall responsibility for leadership, governance, people management, interpersonal communication, and client service.

Some of their key achievements include successfully designing a robust and practiced emergency management structure, ensuring the continuity of services for >5K+ retirees by troubleshooting retirement advisory service center’s software conversion by appointing a qualified consultant, and currently heading a department of 191 professionals and human capital programs inclusive of labor relations, talent management, benefits, HR policy, and compensation.
