Programme Leader MRC Metabolic Disease Unit at University of Cambridge

Clemence Blouet, PhD, currently serves as Programme Leader at the MRC Metabolic Disease Unit within the University of Cambridge since April 2024 and has been involved in the Programme Leader track at the MRC Metabolic Disease Unit since April 2018, focusing on the effects of specific nutrients on appetite and energy balance. Previous experience includes roles as Assistant Professor of Medicine and Research Associate at The Albert Einstein College of Medicine from January 2007 to October 2013, where research centered on central nervous system nutrient sensing and energy homeostasis. Clemence completed a PhD fellowship at AgroParisTech from January 2003 to December 2006, investigating the role of protein intake and dietary sulfur amino acids in preventing metabolic diseases in rodents, and also held a research internship at the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University in May 2002, studying dietary factors affecting age-related macular degeneration. Educational qualifications include a PhD and an MS in Nutrition Sciences from AgroParisTech.
