Amanda Derry

Amanda Derry has extensive experience in human resources and educational leadership. Currently serving as a Member of the Board of Trustees for Unisaver New Zealand since March 2023, Amanda has been with the University of Canterbury since April 2006, holding various roles including Kaihautū Pūmanawa Tangata (Director, People and Culture) and Shared Services Manager, HR. In these positions, Amanda has led a diverse HR team, overseeing functions such as employment relations, remuneration, payroll, and recruitment. Amanda's previous experience includes being Board Chair and Board Member for Governors Bay School from 2013 to 2019, where strategic advisory and HR expertise were provided. Amanda also worked at Broxtowe College as Team Leader for the International Department and began a career in education as a classroom teacher in the UK. Amanda holds a B.Ed (HONS) in Primary Education from Leeds Beckett University.
