Planetary Sciences Phd Student at University of Central Florida

Daejhanae Smith is a Planetary Sciences PhD student and Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Central Florida since August 2024. Previously, Daejhanae served as a Resident Director at Beacon College from July 2023 to August 2024, where responsibilities included managing a residence hall and fostering a positive environment for resident learning. Daejhanae participated in the 2022-2023 Galactic Unite BLAST Program as a scholar with Virgin Galactic, and conducted research in condensed matter physics as an NSF Funded REU Student at Howard University in 2022. Experience also includes serving as a Resident Advisor and Computer Room Monitor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and advocating for the Pledge Against Bullying Program as a Student Ambassador. Daejhanae earned a Bachelor of Science in Astronomy and Astrophysics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and graduated with a high school diploma from Leesburg High School.
