Sam Laurencin, MD, PhD, is an Orthopaedic Surgery Resident at the University of Connecticut since May 2015. Prior to this role, Sam served as a Graduate Fellow at Merck from 2013 to May 2015 and pursued an M.D./Ph.D. at Drexel University from September 2007 to May 2015, focusing on biomaterials and tissue engineering for musculoskeletal injury repair. Sam's research has a medical emphasis on orthopedic surgery. Additional experience includes a Visiting Research Scholar position at Temple University from October 2011 to October 2013 and earlier engineering roles at DuPont and McNeil Consumer Healthcare. Sam holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, both from Drexel University.
