Mikkel Bogh

Mikkel Bogh is a distinguished academic and museum professional, currently serving as a Professor at Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen since June 2023. Mikkel has previously held significant leadership positions, including Director at SMK – Statens Museum for Kunst from May 2014 to June 2023 and Rector at Det kgl. danske Kunstakademi (The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts) from September 2005 to April 2014. Mikkel began an academic career as an Assistant Professor at the University of Aarhus and eventually became an Associate Professor at The University of Copenhagen before obtaining a PhD at the same institution. Mikkel holds a Cand.phil et mag.art. in Art History from Københavns Universitet, earned between 1985 and 1993, and a Student degree from Virum Statsskole, completed in 1982.
