Denise J. Murphy

Denise J. Murphy serves as the Director and Professor of Dance at the University of Delaware since August 2023. Prior to this role, Denise was a choreographer and guest artist at High Point University and West Chester University of Pennsylvania from 2019 to 2021. Denise's academic experience includes teaching undergraduate courses in performance, choreography, and dance studies at The University of the Arts, along with serving as assistant to the Director of Dance. Denise has also held various positions at The Ailey School and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, contributing as a faculty member, assistant to the director, and administrative roles. Denise holds a Master of Fine Arts in Choreography from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Bachelor of Science in Dance Education from New York University.
