Jeffrey Friedland has extensive experience in research administration, currently serving as the Associate Vice President for Research Administration at the University of Delaware since January 2018. Prior to this role, Jeffrey held positions including Director of the Office of Research and Project Administration at Princeton University from October 2007 to January 2018, and Sr. Assistant Director at the Education Development Center from 2005 to 2007. Earlier in Jeffrey's career, positions included Manager of Grants and Contracts at MIT from 1999 to 2005, Contract and Financial Manager at the Northeast Advanced Vehicle Consortium from 1996 to 1999, and Contract Administrator at Raytheon Missile Systems from 1993 to 1995. Jeffrey obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus on Finance and Operations Management from the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst between 1987 and 1992.

The University of Delaware - a state assisted, privately chartered institution - is a Land Grant, Sea Grant, Space Grant and Carnegie Research University (very high research activity). The University, with origins in 1743, was chartered by the State of Delaware in 1833. A Women's College was opened in 1914, and in 1945 UD became permanently coeducational. The main campus is located in Newark, Delaware, a suburban community of nearly 30,000, situated midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. Courses are also offered at the Wilmington campus and at other locations throughout the State, including Dover, Georgetown, Milford, and Lewes.
