Martin Mauve

Vice-Rector for Digitization & Scientific Infrastructure at University of Düsseldorf

Dr. Martin Goch was born in Bielefeld in 1963 and studied history and English at the Ruhr University in Bochum and the University of Sheffield. In his doctorate he dealt with English university novels after 1945. Martin Goch began his professional career in 1992 as a personal assistant to the rector of the University of Essen (today the University of Duisburg-Essen).

He held this position until 1996, since 1994 he had additional responsibilities as head of department and later deputy head of the department for student and academic affairs. Parallel to these tasks, after the end of his work as a consultant, he also headed the staff unit and later the Controlling/KLR department from 1996.

after dr Goch was appointed Head of the Department for Economics and Finance at the University of Essen in 2002, and in this capacity from 2003 he played a key role in the merger of the Universities of Duisburg and Essen. In 2009 he was appointed founding vice president for business and human resources administration at the Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences.

From the end of 2012 to the end of 2014, Dr. Goch part-time at the Center for Corporate Accounting at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster. He graduated with an MBA in Accounting and Controlling.

Since February 2014 he has headed the central university administration of the HHU as chancellor and is a member of the rectorate. dr Goch is married and has two older children.
