Emma Sutton-Pavli

Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Student Experience and Education) at University of East Anglia

Emma Sutton-Pavli is a Professor of Health Professions Education. In October 2020 she was appointed as Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Student Experience and Education with a strategic responsibility for UEA’s student academic and non-academic experience with a current focus on wellbeing.

Prof Sutton-Pavli began her career as a registered mental health nurse working in specialist areas of crisis intervention and with those who engage in self injury. Despite moving into an academic role more than twenty years ago, she remains a registrant with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, and a strong advocate for individuals living with mental ill-health and those that are close to them.

Emma has led the ‘Embedding Mental Health and Wellbeing in the Curriculum’ project at UEA and is currently leading a cross-institution inter-disciplinary project in partnership with the Students Union, to ensure interventions are in place designed to mitigate the impact of the pandemic upon student mental health and wellbeing.
