Rebecca Short is an experienced professional in biodiversity and environmental conservation, currently serving as the RENEW Biodiversity Programme Manager at the University of Exeter since August 2023. Previously, Rebecca held the role of Fisheries, Biodiversity and Geomorphology Team Leader at the Environment Agency and led research and operations for the Unpeeled Adventure canoe expedition across North America. As a Blue Food Fellow at the Stockholm Resilience Centre, and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Exeter Medical School, Rebecca focused on health-environment linkages and marine ecosystems. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Conservation Science from Imperial College London and a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from the University of Plymouth. Early career experiences include project coordination and administrative roles at the Zoological Society of London.
