Hlengiwe Gwebu, PhD, currently serves as the Acting Deputy Dean and Senior Lecturer in the Public Health Department at the University of Fort Hare, a position held since January 2023. Previously, Gwebu was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Cape Town from January 2020 to December 2022, focusing on Implementation Science and Evaluation Research. A background in adolescent sexual and reproductive health was established during tenure as a Research Consultant for the United Nations Population Fund from April 2015 to May 2016. Gwebu's academic experience also includes a role as a Lecturer in Community Health Nursing at Swaziland Christian University from March 2013 to March 2015, as well as experience as a Community Health Nurse and Midwife at Raleigh Fitkin Memorial Hospital and the National Psychiatric Hospital from January 2007 to February 2013. Gwebu holds a PhD in Public Health from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, as well as an MSc in Public Health from Taipei Medical University and a Bachelor's degree in Community Health Nursing and Midwifery from the University of Eswatini.
