Michael Terrazas

Director - Research Communications at University of Georgia

Michael Terrazas has an extensive work experience spanning over several roles and companies. Starting in 1994, they worked as an Assistant Editor at Argus Communications for almost a year before moving to the Georgia Tech Alumni Association as an Assistant Editor for Alumni Publications. In 1995, they also worked as a freelance copy editor for Poets, Artists & Madmen. Michael joined Emory University in 1997 and held various roles there including Senior Editor, Editor, and Director of Internal Communications. In 2006, they became the Director of Internal Communications at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. In 2007, they worked as a Writer/Editor and QA Specialist at PARIO. In 2008, they joined the College of Computing at Georgia Tech, first as an Assistant Director of Communications, and later as the Director of Communications. Finally, in 2018, they joined The University of Georgia as the Director of Research Communications.

Michael Terrazas earned a Master of Arts - MA in Journalism from the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia in 2020. Before that, they obtained an ABJ degree in Journalism from the same institution in 1992. Furthermore, Michael received their High School Diploma from Dearborn High School in 1988.
