Giorgos Othonos

Giorgos Othonos is an experienced professional in virtual production, currently serving as a Virtual Production Technical Demonstrator at the University of Greenwich since February 2024, where assistance is provided to the Virtual Production department utilizing Unreal Engine 5 and Mo-sys technology. Previous engagements include a placement at Mo-Sys Engineering Ltd, where knowledge of virtual production software and hardware was enhanced, and a role as a Junior Performance Capture Technician at Centroid Motion Capture, focusing on calibrating volumes and preparing actors. Giorgos has also worked on a BBC drama with New Pictures as a Location Marshal and as a Virtual Production Junior at La Bicicleta AD, gaining hands-on experience with Vicon systems and motion capture data. An early career highlight involved leading a team in multiple roles, including producer and director, during a student commercial project while pursuing a BSc in Film Technology and Visual Effects from Birmingham City University. Additional education includes multimedia design from Cyprus University of Technology and a foundation in fine arts.
