Cisca Wijmenga

Cisca Wijmenga is the current Rector at University of Groningen. Cisca has previously worked at Ludwig kliniek, Waddenacademie, Capaciteitsorgaan, University of Groningen, Fryske Akademy, KHMW, KNAW - Koninklijke Nederlandse Akademie van Wetenschappen, Academia Europea, and UMCG.

Cisca Wijmenga attended the University of Groningen, earning a Master's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General. Cisca then attended Leiden University, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy: from genetic mapping towards gene cloning, graduating cum laude.
