Rene van Acker

Rene Van Acker is a seasoned academic and administrator currently serving as the Vice-President of Research and Innovation at the University of Guelph since July 2006, with prior roles including Dean, Associate Dean, Professor, and Department Chair. With a robust teaching background, Rene held a professorship at the University of Manitoba from January 1996 to June 2006. Rene's academic qualifications include a PhD in Crop-Weed Ecology from the University of Reading (1992-1995), an MSc in Weed Science from the University of Guelph (1990-1992), and a BSc in Crop Science from the University of Guelph (1985-1990).
