Jochen Küpper

Jochen Küpper is a distinguished physicist currently serving as Lead Scientist at DESY since May 2021, where responsibilities include directing the recording of molecular movies and exploring ultrafast dynamics in molecular and biological systems. Simultaneously, Küpper holds the position of University Professor of Physics at the University of Hamburg since October 2010, and also serves as Professor by Courtesy of Chemistry, focusing on various areas such as Biophysics, Nanoscience, and Controlled Molecule Imaging. Previous roles include Group Leader at the Center for Free-Electron Laser Science, and Research Group Leader at the Fritz-Haber-Institute, among others. Küpper's academic journey includes advanced degrees in Experimental Physics and Physical Chemistry from Freie Universität Berlin and the University of Düsseldorf, respectively.
