Martin Semmann

Martin Semmann is the Managing Director of the Hub of Computing and Data Science (HCDS) at Universität Hamburg, where Martin has held various roles since April 2011, including Postdoctoral Research Assistant and Research Assistant. In addition, Semmann serves as Geschäftsführer at HCDS since May 2023 and is a Co-Founder of the Artificial Intelligence Center Hamburg (ARIC) e.V. Since September 2018, Semmann has been managing director of ahoi.digital until May 2023, focusing on strengthening informatics and computer science in the context of digitalization across universities in Hamburg. Prior experience includes working as a student at Umfotec GmbH and a student assistant at Georg August Universität Göttingen, along with community service at Lebenshilfe für Menschen mit geistiger Behinderung. Semmann holds a Dr. rer. nat from the University of Hamburg, a Master of Science in Business Information Systems from the University of Göttingen, and a Bachelor in Business Information Systems from the same institution. Additional educational experience includes studies at Universitat Jaume I and completing secondary education at Viktoria Luise Gymnasium Hameln.
