Ashok Kumar

Ashok Kumar is an Endowed Professor and Chair of the Department of Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Houston since August 2019, focusing on developing novel therapies for skeletal muscle disorders. Prior to this role, Ashok Kumar served as a Professor and Distinguished University Scholar at the University of Louisville School of Medicine from August 2007 to July 2019, and as a Scientist at the Loma Linda VA Medical Center from December 2004 to July 2007, where research concentrated on skeletal muscle atrophy and regeneration. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Delhi University, an M.Tech. in Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology from the Indian Institute of Technology, and multiple degrees in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, and Chemistry from various institutions.
