Jaha Williams

Jaha Williams is an accomplished fundraiser and development professional with extensive experience in higher education and nonprofit sectors. Currently serving as Chief Development Officer at the University of Houston since November 2016, Jaha has held various advancement roles, demonstrating expertise in strategic planning and implementation of fundraising initiatives for the College of Education. Prior to this position, Jaha was the Director of Development and Alumni Relations at the University of Houston-Downtown, focusing on annual funds, major gifts, planned giving, and alumni relations. Previous roles include Associate Director of Development at Texas Southern University and Director of Fund Development at Montgomery County United Way, where significant increases in campaign funding were achieved. Jaha's early career involved positions such as Campaign Manager at United Way for the Greater New Orleans Area and Customer Relations Analyst at Entergy. Educational qualifications include a Masters in Public Administration from the University of New Orleans and a Bachelor's in Political Science from Southern University and Agricultural and Mechanical College at Baton Rouge.
