Cathy Murphy

Cathy Murphy is the current Department Head of Chemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Cathy previously worked as the Lipscomb Professor at the University of South Carolina from August 1993 to August 2009.

Cathy Murphy did a postdoc in Chemistry at Caltech, and they have a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Cathy also has a B.S. in chemistry and a B.S. in biochemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Cathy Murphy reports to Jonathan Sweedler, Director, School of Chemical Sciences. They are on a team with Ken Wooldridge - Operations Manager, Paul Kenis - Dept. Head, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.
