Brandon Schwab

Brandon Schwab currently serves as the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost at the University of Illinois Springfield since July 2023. Prior to this role, Brandon held the position of Associate Provost for Academic Affairs at Western Carolina University from July 2014 to July 2023. Brandon's academic career began at Humboldt State University, where roles included Geology Department Head, Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and Instructor from 2000 to 2014. Additionally, Brandon was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Smithsonian Institution's Museum of Natural History in 2006-2007. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences from the University of Oregon (1995-2000) and a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington (1991-1995).
