Jamie Jorgensen

Jamie Jorgensen currently serves as the Vice President for Legal Affairs and General Counsel at the University of Iowa, a position held since September 2022. Previously, Jamie was Senior Counsel at Husch Blackwell, providing guidance on higher education compliance issues and leading training on critical legal topics. Prior experience includes serving as Chief of Staff and Chief Legal Counsel at Pitzer College, where Jamie advised senior leadership on legal matters and developed crisis management programs, and as Deputy General Counsel at the University of Iowa, focusing on collaboration with various departments to implement compliance policies. Additionally, Jamie taught employment and business law as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Iowa's Tippie College of Business. Jamie holds a JD from the University of Michigan Law School, a Ph.D. in Education Policy and Leadership Studies from the University of Iowa, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Political Science from Iowa State University.
