Priyanka Vakkalanka

Priyanka Vakkalanka is an accomplished academic and researcher in the field of epidemiology, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine since August 2016. Vakkalanka has held various roles within the Emergency Medicine department, including Associate Research Scientist and Research Analysis Team Lead. Prior to this, Vakkalanka worked as an Epidemiologist at the University of Virginia School of Medicine from August 2012 to August 2016 and at the Navy and Marine Corps Public Health Center from August 2010 to July 2012. Vakkalanka earned a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Iowa College of Public Health, a Master’s Degree in Epidemiology from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and Sociology from the University of Virginia.
