Ian Rosser

Ian Rosser has a diverse work experience that spans over several industries and roles. Ian currently holds the position of Head of Corporate Communications at the University of Leeds, a role they started in January 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Acting Head of Media Relations at the same institution from September 2022 to January 2023. Ian's previous experience includes working as a Media and Communications Manager at the University of Leeds from June 2020 to September 2022. Ian also worked as a Media and External Relations Officer at Leeds Beckett University from January 2018 to June 2020 and as a PR and Communications Officer at Leeds Arts University from October 2017 to January 2018. Other roles Ian held include Internal Communications Coordinator at Cox Automotive UK from April 2017 to August 2017 and English and Media Studies Teacher at Abbey Grange Church of England Academy Trust from January 2016 to April 2017. Prior to this, they were an English Teacher, Second in English, at Bruntcliffe School from September 2014 to December 2015 and an English and Media Studies Teacher at Lawnswood School from September 2010 to August 2014. Ian's earlier career includes serving as an English Teacher at Allerton High School from September 2009 to August 2010 and working as an Education Reporter, Assistant News Editor, at the Yorkshire Evening Post from November 2001 to August 2009. Ian also worked as an Education Reporter at the Halifax Evening Courier from November 1999 to October 2001.

Ian Rosser obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Humanities from Humberside University, which they attended from 1992 to 1995. Before that, they attended Ebbw Vale Senior Comprehensive School from 1983 to 1985. Ian also holds additional certifications, including Qualified Teaching Status from the General Teaching Council for England, NCE (National Certificate of Education) from the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ), and a Pre-Entry Course in Newspaper Journalism, also from the NCTJ.
