Jackie Tate has a diverse work experience starting in 2014 as a Supplemental Learning Leader/Mentor for Accounting and Philosophy at Thompson Rivers University, where they prepared study sessions for students and mentored new leaders. Jackie then worked as a Financial Administrator at Sprott Shaw College, handling various financial tasks and student-related responsibilities. In 2017, Jackie held positions at KPMG Canada as an Enterprise Accountant and at Highland Powerlines Ltd. as a Financial Administrator. Jackie later joined the City of Kamloops as a Finance Technician and Finance Analyst. In 2022, Jackie worked as an Implementation Advisor at PSD Citywide Inc. Currently, they hold the position of Director Financial Systems Support and Development at The University of Lethbridge.

Jackie Tate completed a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Accounting from Thompson Rivers University from 2013 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) from the College of New Caledonia from 2003 to 2004. In addition, Jackie obtained various certifications, including the BCCSA COR Internal Auditor Certificate in 2018, the BCCSA Principles of Health and Safety Management Certificate in 2017, the Co-Curricular Peer Leader Certificate from Thompson Rivers University in 2015, and the Supplemental Learning Leader Certificate from Thompson Rivers University in 2015.
