Roisin McCallion is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in business development and investment within the life sciences sector. Since April 2017, Roisin has served as the Director of Business Development and Investment at UMIP, overseeing commercial licensing agreements, spin-out formations, and investments from the University of Manchester Intellectual Property. Prior to this role, Roisin spent two decades at Smith & Nephew in various positions, including Business Development Manager and New Technology Manager in Advanced Wound Management, where responsibilities encompassed mergers and acquisitions, licensing of intellectual property, and technology assessment. Additional experience includes research associate positions at The University of Manchester and the Medical College of St Bartholomew's Hospital, focusing on wound healing and electromagnetic radiation effects. Roisin holds a BSc in Applied and Human Biology and a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Aston University.
