Casey Honniball is an accomplished Assistant Research Scientist at the University of Maryland since January 2023, with prior experience as a NASA PostDoctoral Fellow at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center from January 2020 to December 2022. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Earth and planetary science and a Master’s degree in Geology and Geophysics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Significant research accomplishments include the development of a hyperspectral imager and investigations into lunar soil mechanics during a summer internship at the Lunar and Planetary Institute. Additional roles have included research positions focusing on interstellar materials, data archiving related to comets and asteroids, and characterization of ionospheric electron density structures.
