Eileen Dunne

Eileen Dunne serves as Senior Director of Scientific Affairs and Epidemiology for Global Pneumococcal Vaccines at Pfizer since August 2021. Eileen is also an Honorary Fellow and Senior Research Officer at the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute, focusing research on Streptococcus pneumoniae, pneumococcal vaccination, molecular diagnostics, and infectious disease surveillance. Additionally, Eileen holds the title of Honorary Senior Fellow at the University of Melbourne's Department of Paediatrics. Previous experience includes serving as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where responsibilities encompassed outbreak investigation and disease surveillance. Eileen's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Microbiology from Boston University School of Medicine and a B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of Notre Dame, complementing earlier experience as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Nicaragua.
