Justin Koch

Justin Koch is a dedicated research assistant at the University of Michigan Life Sciences Institute's Ohi Lab, where responsibilities include assisting in experiments using cryo-electron microscopy to investigate molecular machines relevant to human health. Simultaneously, Justin serves as a hospital volunteer at Michigan Medicine, supporting adult bone marrow transplant patients in the leukemia clinic and infusion center. As a student manager for the University of Michigan Women's Lacrosse team, Justin aids in practice management and supports the team during games. Previous experience includes serving as a senior lifeguard at Larchmont Swim Club, ensuring safety and cleanliness, and working as an ice cream scooper at LicketySplitz during the pandemic. Justin is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biomolecular Science at the University of Michigan, building a strong foundation for a future in bench research and its applications in medicine and science.
