Angelica Vanderlaan

Angelica VanderLaan, MHA has a diverse work experience in various healthcare and sports organizations. Angelica currently holds the role of Chief of Staff & Innovation Program Lead at University of Michigan Health-West, where they have been since August 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Chief of Staff & Administrative Fellow at the same organization from July 2019 to August 2021. Angelica also has experience as a Tennis & Pickleball Professional at MVP Sports Clubs starting from October 2023. In addition, they have held roles such as Corporate Director of Hospital Based Services Intern and Quality Improvement Coordinator at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services, Tennis Professional at In The Zone Tennis, Clinical Administrative Assistant Manager at Grand Rapids Cardiology, and Medical Assistant Intern at Wassim M. Younes MD, R. Ph. & Associates Internal Medicine. Angelica's previous experiences also include internships in healthcare organizations such as Trinity Health, City Of Northville, Dermatology Associates of West Michigan, and University of Michigan Health-West.

Angelica VanderLaan, MHA has a strong educational background in healthcare administration and management. Angelica obtained a Master's degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from Grand Valley State University in 2019. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Health Services Administration from Davenport University in 2015. Angelica also holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Medical Assisting and Phlebotomy from Davenport University, which they obtained in 2014. Before pursuing higher education, Angelica completed a Medical Assisting/Clinical and Technical Skills program at Livonia Career Technical Center in 2011. Angelica received their high school degree from Livonia Franklin High School in 2011 as well.

In addition to their academic achievements, Angelica has obtained several certifications to enhance their skills in the healthcare industry. Angelica completed a Communication Fundamentals in Healthcare Workshop + Shadowing through Kelley Dillon Consulting, LLC in 2020. In 2018, they successfully completed the Institute for Healthcare Quality Improvement (IHI) Open School program. Lastly, Angelica holds the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants.
