Katharine Toll is a dedicated chemist currently serving as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of Minnesota, focusing on organic chemistry methodology and natural product biosynthesis in the Hoye Laboratory since December 2021. Previously, Katharine conducted research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, developing novel transformations using acridinium as an organic photoredox catalyst, while also working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in general chemistry. At Bowdoin College, research centered on biomimetic catalysts for enantioselective trifluoromethylation, supported by a Kufe Family Summer Research Fellowship. Additional experience includes roles as an Eco Rep in the Sustainability Office, a Tour Guide at the Peary and MacMillan Arctic Museum, and a Global Educator with Heifer International. Katharine holds a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and German from Bowdoin College and is pursuing a Master of Science in Organic Chemistry at the University of Minnesota.
