Stephen Brown serves as the Chief Water Judge at Montana Water Court since February 2019, after previously holding the position of Water Judge. In addition, Stephen has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Montana Law School since January 1996, teaching courses in Oil and Gas Law and Natural Resources and Energy Law. Prior professional experience includes serving as Managing Partner at Garlington, Lohn & Robinson from June 1994 to February 2019 and practicing as an Attorney at Stoel Rives from September 1989 to June 1994. Stephen holds a J.D. in Law from Lewis & Clark Law School and a B.S. in Geology from Whitworth University.
