Erasmus Shaanika is a Lecturer at the University of Namibia since August 2020, with a substantial academic background in engineering. Previously, Erasmus served as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Doctoral Student at Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, where research focused on High Temperature Superconducting (HTS) synchronous motors. Earlier experience includes a Master's Degree Student studying HTS synchronous rotating machines, alongside roles as a Research Student in Marine Electronics and Mechanical Engineering, which involved assembling cryogenic thermosyphon cooling systems. Prior to these positions, Erasmus worked as a Mechanical Engineering Tutor and interned with NamPower on a Francis Turbines Replacement Project. Educational qualifications include a PhD and Master’s degree from Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Namibia.
