Alex Kigerl

Alex Kigerl is a highly experienced research professional and data scientist with expertise in risk assessments and machine learning. Currently serving as a Research Associate at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Alex develops risk assessments utilized at various governmental levels and has constructed extensive datasets to enhance risk forecasting methods. As a Data Scientist at Vant4ge, Alex curates client databases and deploys patented algorithms for risk assessment products. Previously, Alex held roles at Washington State University as an Assistant Research Professor and Data Scientist, where significant contributions included developing patented algorithms and performing extensive analyses on offender programs and cybercriminal profiling. Alex also worked as a Research Consultant for the National Institute of Justice, focusing on implementing the First Step Act and creating a new risk assessment tool for the Bureau of Prisons. Alex holds a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice and Criminology and multiple degrees in criminology, sociology, and psychology from Portland State University.
