Deborah Circo

Deborah Circo, PhD, is a prominent academic and administrator with extensive experience in social work and psychology. Currently serving as Vice President of the UNO Faculty Senate and Assistant Professor at the Grace Abbott School of Social Work at the University of Nebraska at Omaha since July 2019, Deborah also fulfills roles as MSW Program Director and Graduate Program Chair. Prior roles include Inaugural Program Director of the Master of Social Work Program at Northcentral University, where responsibilities involved designing and overseeing the program's development. Deborah has also acted as Dissertation Director within the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences and contributed as an Adjunct Distinguished Professor in the School of Psychology, focusing on graduate and doctoral education. With a PhD in Developmental Psychology and multiple degrees in social work and psychology, Deborah brings a wealth of expertise in research design, faculty development, and program administration. Previous experience includes over two decades as Director of the Department of Social Work at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, emphasizing staff and trainee evaluations.
