Jun Zhang

Assistant Professor at University of Nevada-Reno

Jun Zhang serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Nevada, Reno since August 2018, focusing on the design, modeling, control, and application of artificial muscles for robotics. Previously, Jun Zhang was a Postdoctoral Scholar at UC San Diego from January 2016 to August 2018 and conducted research as a Research Assistant during the PhD studies at Michigan State University from August 2011 to December 2015, where the dissertation explored modeling, identification, and control of hysteretic systems relevant to vanadium dioxide microactuators. Jun Zhang's academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Automation from the University of Science and Technology of China (2007-2011) and a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Michigan State University (2011-2015). Early research experience includes an undergraduate thesis on parallel platform accuracy analysis and a research internship at Pohang University of Science and Technology focusing on piezoelectric actuators.
