Peter Reed

Peter Reed is the Director of the Sanford Center for Aging and a Professor of Public Health at the University of Nevada Reno, a position held since September 2013. The Sanford Center focuses on translational research, gerontological education, and community outreach to enhance the quality of life for elders in Nevada. Previously, Peter served as the Faculty Senate Chair at the University of Nevada Reno, advocating for faculty within the university’s governance structure. Prior roles include Associate Adjunct Professor at UC Davis, CEO of Pioneer Network, President and CEO of the Center for Health Improvement, and Senior Director of Programs for the Alzheimer's Association. Peter holds a PhD and MPH in Health Behavior and Health Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, along with a BS in Sociology from the University of Kentucky and various leadership development certifications.
