Alanna Lavelle is a Senior Principal Consultant at MITRE, where since September 2014, consultations with Medicare, Medicaid, and the VA have focused on conducting risk assessments to address fraud, waste, and abuse, utilizing analytics and algorithms for risk modeling. Alanna also serves as the Director of the Healthcare Fraud Program for the Healthcare Fraud Prevention Partnership (HFPP) under CMS. Additionally, since March 2018, Alanna has held the position of Adjunct Professor at the University of New Haven, teaching courses related to healthcare fraud and analytics. Previously, Alanna was the Director of the Enterprise Investigations, Special Investigations Unit at WellPoint, Inc., and a Supervisory Special Agent at the FBI for over 24 years, gaining extensive experience in health care fraud and other criminal activities. Alanna holds multiple degrees in International Relations and Conflict Management from various institutions, including the University of Minnesota and Kennesaw State University.
