Lefteris Zacharia

Lefteris Zacharia is a seasoned academic and pharmaceutical professional with extensive experience in pharmacology, research, and regulatory affairs. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at the University of Nicosia since 2014, Lefteris teaches pharmacology and biochemistry to pharmacy students while also engaging in research and mentoring. Prior positions include Head of R&D at Vethellas SA, where Lefteris was involved in preparing regulatory drug registration dossiers, and CEO at Biomedcode Hellas SA, providing preclinical drug evaluation services. Lefteris has also held roles at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where teaching and research spanned molecular pharmacology and drug development. Educational qualifications include an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business, a PhD in Molecular Pharmacology from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and a BS in Biochemistry from Denison University.
