Brian Nussbaum has a diverse work experience in the field of information technology. Brian began their career in 2010 as an Assistant Manager and Tech Department Manager at Intrex Computers, where they managed the tech staff and performed various repairs on different systems. Brian then worked as a PC Technician at Randstad, contracted to the UNC Computer Repair Center, where they specialized in Lenovo and Apple system diagnostics and repairs. In 2014, Brian transitioned to a full-time role as a Tech Support Analyst at the UNC Computer Repair Center, providing system diagnostics and repairs for students, staff, and faculty at UNC-Chapel Hill. Brian also provided dispatch services to departments on campus. From 2015 to 2022, Brian served as the Desktop Support and Help Desk Manager at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, responsible for desktop support, help desk support, system administration, classroom and lab support, and managing the IT help desk staff. Currently, Brian is the Director of Information Technology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's School of Education, leading the IT unit and overseeing strategic and operational plans, as well as developing and maintaining education-specific systems.
Brian Nussbaum obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Information from Lees-McRae College in the period from 2003 to 2007. Brian also attended East Wake High from 1999 to 2003. In terms of certifications, they have obtained several including Extron AV Associate and Extron Network AV Specialist Certification from Extron, Apple Certified Macintosh Technician from Apple, Lenovo Certified Technician from Lenovo, Microsoft Certified Professional from Microsoft, Network+ from CompTIA, and A+ from CompTIA.
