Matthew Mauzy has extensive experience in emergency response technology and information technology management at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, beginning in 1995. Currently serving as Emergency Response Technology Manager in the Office of the CIO, Matthew oversees the Alert Carolina Emergency Notification System, facilitating rapid communication to over 55,000 students, faculty, and staff. Previous roles include IT Manager and Senior Administrator for the ITS Control Center, where responsibilities included monitoring critical infrastructure and leading emergency operations planning. Additionally, Matthew has managed UNIX systems and developed high-performance computing environments. Outside of academia, Matthew holds leadership positions with South Orange Rescue Squad, including Chief and Assistant Chief of EMS. Matthew earned a degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed high school at Western Guilford High School.
