Kevin Violette

Kevin Violette has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Kevin is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro since November 2022. Prior to this, they held various roles at the same university, including Manager of Enterprise Systems from October 2018 to the present and Business and Technology Specialist from October 2016 to October 2018.

Before joining the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Kevin worked at UNC Wilmington. At UNC Wilmington, they held positions such as Senior Solutions Architect from October 2014 to January 2016, Director of Integrated Enterprise Solutions from December 2008 to October 2014, Manager of Windows Systems and Storage from July 2003 to December 2008, Systems Administrator from July 2000 to July 2003, and Computer Consultant/Administrator from 1995 to July 2000. Kevin also started their career as a Research Technician at UNC Wilmington from July 1992 to July 1995.

Prior to their time at UNC Wilmington, Kevin worked as a Student Lab Technician at Ohio Northern University from August 1989 to May 1991 and as a Research Technician-Intern at Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution from November 1990 to April 1991.

Kevin Violette obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Ohio Northern University from 1988 to 1991. Kevin also attended Educause in 2011 for the Management Institute Program. In the same year, they participated in the Leadership Enhancement & Administrative Development program at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. In 2008, Kevin completed the Advaced Project Management Boot Camp Certificate Program at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in "Leading Across the Organization" from the Center for Creative Leadership and "ITIL Foundations in IT Service Management" from AXELOS Global Best Practice.
